Our Team
Meet Our Speech-Language Pathologists
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are professionals who have training and expertise in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. SLPs work with people of all ages, from newborns to seniors. We work in a variety of settings such as hospitals, elementary and secondary schools, private clinics and centres, health units, child development centres, rehabilitation centres, and research facilities.
Speech-Language Pathology Assistants
Here at Citadel Speech and Language Services we have a team comprised of both Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to help support an individual’s specific needs. SLPs and SLPAs are both valuable members of our communication team!

What is the difference between a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)?

In simplest terms, an SLP is a licensed, registered professional who can assess your loved one’s needs as well as develop, modify or change their treatment goals. A SLPA is an individual qualified to provide treatment sessions under the SLP’s supervision. In British Columbia, SLPs have a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) and must be registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
SLPs, Are You Looking for Freedom, Flexibility, and Support?
When I started my journey working for myself, I made a promise to prioritize my mental health and well-being. I work every day to create a better work-life balance. Along the way, I’ve met amazing people and had amazing opportunities both professionally and personally. I’ve rediscovered hobbies and found new interests. Even through Covid-19, I was able to balance work and my 2 rambunctious boys home full-time because I made my own schedule!

As a team, we value building each other up, supporting each other, and friendship. If this sounds like the team for you, email your resume to Becca and let us know why you want to join us.

We are always looking for like-minded people to join our team!
